Planting Instructions

Location: Suitable for both containers & in ground.

Using fresh, good-quality compost, plant bulbs in pots from September to November. For flowerbeds, we advise waiting until after the first frosts (typically mid-October to early December depending on your location) to reduce the risk of potential disease such as Tulip Fire.

When to Plant: The ideal day time temperature to plant tulip bulbs is between 60°F to 65°F (15°C to 18°C). This temperature range allows the tulip bulbs to establish roots before winter, ensuring strong growth and beautiful blooms in the spring!

How to Plant: Plant your tulip bulbs, pointy ends up, at a depth of about 6 to 8 inches from the base of the bulb to the surface of the soil. A good rule of thumb is to plant them at a depth that is about 2 to 3 inches the bulb height.

Space them about 1/2 inch apart for a full, lush look.

Note: If you’re unable to plant your bulbs immediately, they can be stored in a cool, dark environment (~ 60F) with good air circulation. Alternatively, they can be stored in a cooler (~ 45-50F) away from fruits and produce.
